PART 2: Print Product = Cover + Back Cover + 1

Blurb: The BAFTA award-winning sitcom returns with a final episode

Statement of Aims(500 words)

My aim for these products are to follow the stereo-typical comedic sitcom such as Friends, Inbetweeners or Big Bang Theory. Many of these genre shows (sitcoms) attract younger viewers e.g. 16-25 (which is the target audience that the exam board stated) as they use scenarios that closely relate to the viewers themselves. These scenarios can be greatly exaggerated to make use of satiric comedy which then further entices the audience to carry on watching.

The title of my show is called "EMOtional" which clearly defines the main topic of the show which is the "emo" stereotype (also "EMO" is in bold on purpose to. I will try use a custom font that feels like it represents the title and topic which should be quite sharp and bold. I will use Adobe Photoshop to create both my poster and DVD cover. My poster(print product) will have a dark tone surrounding a main character within the show in order to relate to the dark stereotypical themes surrounding a generic "emo". The main character has an outfit (aesthetics) which will also relate to the stereotypes of an emo which in generically is all black outfit (may have fake piercings). The second main character which will be the 'Best Friend' will have a complete binary opposite aesthetic as well as personality compared to the main focus character. An outfit that the 'Best Friend' would wear would be bright in colour and stylish compared to the monotonous all black outfit.

My DVD cover will reflect both of the two main characters personalities which would make the cover half dark with a duller palette to reflect the emo aesthetic and half bright and lively for the second main character. It should have a main image of both the main characters, the main actors names at the top to entice viewers as their favorite actor.

The main title for the poster may be on a signature E4 purple tape to make it more relatable to the producers(E4) actual work. The title will also use the exact fonts which are that E4 use on their own posters. It will definitely have the E4 logo as that is who is the "producers" of the show.

The video will attempt to show exaggerated views on the such stereotypes which are what external viewers think they are. My focus is to create a show that viewers can see both the comedic factor of the work as well as the opposite more intense scenes which relate closely to the main characters clashing appearances/attitudes. The mise-en-scene within the video should include both a moody, dark pallets that surround the main character that establish the setting and give set the tone of the show. Further on the scene will have a warm, comfy lighting in a normal high-school student room to resemble the secondary main character.
